This week is registration for Kindergarten. I can't believe Little J will be going to school, but he will. Little K and I went to his school after dropping him off at preschool and picked up the registration package.
His school is one of the last in Ontario with half-day kindergarten this year. Since I'm home, dealing with school AND daycare isn't an issue so I'm not sure how I feel about half-day vs. full-day. We chose the school based on the fact it is the only public school in the area. There are also English and French Catholic schools and they both offer full-day Kindergarten.

Today was Little J's third preschool class. He cried at drop off but Little K and I stayed in the hallway for a few minutes and I heard him stop. And today he ate his snack, something he hadn't done yet, so that's progress. Last week he talked about a little girl he met and her pretty dress. This week he talked about the book he read and the teachers told me he knew all his letters. He's getting there.
I can't wait for him to be excited to go, forgetting even that I'm there and that I may want a hug. I want him to have fun and make friends. I want him to not cry when he starts school in September.

Little J is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteahh kindergarten! Why do I feel like that day for Max will be here before I know it!
Registered my son in half-day too. I can't believe it's already here. We had him in preschool in the Fall and the drop-offs were killing me. He just wasn't getting used to me leaving and it didn't help that is was only once a week. We'll try again in the Fall. I hope your little man adjusts well!
